The quality of life of people with Parkinson’s disease depends to a great extent on the care they receive. For this reason, one of the main scopes of the Fresco Parkinson Institute Italia is to further the education of professionals with different background that are involved in the care of the patients with Parkinson’s and related disorders.
Thus, most of the Institute’s educational programs are directed to physicians, physiotherapists, speech language therapists, occupational therapists, neuropsychologists, and nurses but also to professionals without a thorough medical background.
Other important targets of the Institute’s educational programs are the patients, families and caregivers. These programs have been developed in order to provide them with the tools to manage and cope with the challenges posed by the disease.
The Fresco Academy offers accredited courses that are centered on the multidisciplinary care of patients with movement disorders. The courses, taught by Italian and international experts, are held both at the headquarters of the Fresco Parkinson Institute in Fiesole and at other locations. Also some courses are offered in webinar modality.
Courses for healthcare professionals and professionals enrolled in professional registers guarantee the relative acquisition of CME credits.
