Parkinson’s disease is a complex, chronic progressive condition, which – in addition to its classic motor manifestations (akinesia, rigidity, tremor, postural instability) – involves different autonomic functions (cardio-vascular, gastro-enterological, genitourinary) as well as the behavioural and cognitive sphere.
Therefore, the optimal management of patients should include, in addition to traditional medical interventions (i.e. pharmacotherapy and surgery), a rehabilitative approach involving specific professional figures such as physiotherapists, speech therapists, nurse practitioners, occupational therapists, and psychologists.
The course aims to provide the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to promote an integrated and multidisciplinary approach to the patients with Parkinson’s disease in a “teamwork” perspective.
Target audience:
Physiotherapist, Speech Therapist, Nurse practitioner, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist
Scientific Coordinators: Giovanni Abbruzzese, Daniele Volpe
ECM:
The Course is limited to 100 participants and it includes 10 educational credits for physiotherapists, speech therapists, nurse practitioners, occupational therapists, psychologists.
The attestation of the credits is subject to the verification of learning and to the participation in the entire training program.
