Parkinson Disease (PD) is a chronic neurodegenerative disorder with an exponential growth in the incoming future.
In last decade there is a strong evidence on the effects of physiotherapy in promoting neuroprotection, neuroplasticity and motor learning slowing down the progression of the disease. PD is a complex disease which needs an integrated and comprehensive model of care where rehabilitation plays a crucial role with its potential disease modifying role impacting the quality of life of people with PD with their caregivers.
Indeed, it is necessary a multidisciplinary approach with an interdisciplinary team composed by different professionals on rehabilitation where the physiotherapist plays a key role. The goal of this course is to train physiotherapists with a specific expertise in rehabilitation of PD providing theoretical-practical education based on international guidelines for physiotherapy and updated scientific evidence in PD. The course will be conducted by Prof. M. Morris a worldwide opinion leader of physiotherapy in PD.
